Huawei Ideos S7 Pro hands on

You may have caught Huawei’s press release just prior to MWC starting that revealed a new 7-inch tablet from them – the Ideos S7 Slim. That video is on its way but here’s another 7-inch tablet they also had on display – the Ideos S7 Pro which looks to be like a higher end model. Unfortunately, the actual working models got stuck in customs and the one on display doesn’t function.
The Ideos S7 Pro sports a dual core Qualcomm 1.2GHz processor, 7-inch 1280 x 800 display, either a 1.3MP or 2.0MP front 5.0MP rear cameras, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and 3G HSPA+. Ports – micro USB, micro HDMI, card reader, headphone jack and volume controls. Price should be a bit above the Ideos Slim.

ZTE V9 and Z-Pad 7-Inch Android Tablets Hands On

We spotted a couple of Android tablets from ZTE over at GSM 2010. The one looking like a Samsung Galaxy Tab is the V9, already released in Russia for about $330 and launching in Australia next month through Optus (with slightly differing specs) for $279 while the Archos 9 look-a-like is the Z-Pad and we’re not sure about any previous whereabouts or pricing at the moment. Both tablets have decent designs and share 7-inch 800 x 480 resistive touchscreens, Android 2.1 with later updates likely, Bluetooth and GPS.
The Z-Pad is supposedly packing a dual core, unspecified Rockchip processor, along with a Mali GPU, g-sensor (didn’t work in the demo) no internal storage, 1.3MP front facing camera and ports – mini USB, USB and SD card slots. No 3G.
The V9 packs in a 728MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the same as in the Huawei S7, a 2.0MP rear camera, GPS, 3G and WiFi hotspot with ports – mini USB, card reader, headphone, volume rockers.

AMD targets Windows tablet market with Desna

AMD is targeting the potentially lucrative Windows tablet market with a new Z series Fusion APU.

Code-named "Desna," the tablet-optimized chipset boasts Radeon HD 6250 discrete-class graphics, two 1 GHz "Bobcat" CPU cores and a TDP of only 5.9 watts.
AMD targets Windows tablet market with Desna
"There are certainly a lot of interesting things happening in the tablet market.MSI's WindPad 110W - which is powered by Desna - is really only a sign of things to come," an AMD rep told TG Daily during a Computex briefing.

"For the future, Windows 8 is definitely an exciting OS, and we look forward to pairing Microsoft's IE10 browser and other apps with our APUs on such devices."
Although the rep declined to comment on the possibility of AMD supporting Android Honeycomb, company exec Phil Hughes did refer to Google's tablet OS in an official blog post about Desna.
"[One platform] to keep on your radar screen as you do your tablet research is BlueStacks," wrote Hughes.
"BlueStacks is helping to reshape the tablet ecosystem by essentially bridging the Windows and Android ecosystems together, thus opening up new application possibilities in the amazing clarity and detail that only an AMD Fusion APU-powered tablet can offer."
As TG Daily previously reported, BlueStacks was most recently spotted on a ViewSonic tablet at Computex 2011.

The device runs Windows 7 as its base OS, but Bluestacks allows Android and related apps to happily co-exist within an x86 environment.

Aston Martin with Mobiado brings touchscreen CPT002 – The Transparent Concept Phone

Seems like manufacturers around the world believe in surprising the consumers by expanding their horizon and entering the new market.
